'The George' is the eighth most popular pub name in England - but there is none quite like The George Hotel.
This pub is right in the heart of Lambourn, the racing capital of Britain with a plethora of top class stables right on the doorstep. It is small wonder that The George often boasts some of the top names in racing among its customers.
But not only is The George a perfect spot for racing lovers, it is at the heart of the village and offers a meeting point that is inviting to the entire community, like when Lambourne-trained Many Clouds won the Grand National in 2015 (pictured).
Open 7 days a week, and serving food daily. Sunday Lunch is a firm favourite here locally.
The George is located on the main street in Lambourn and as well as its regular trade benefits from a prime position for grasping passing trades attention. Lambourn is situated between Newbury and Swindon in the county of West Berkshire on the Oxfordshire/ Wiltshire border and has easy access to several major motorways but with the beauty of a picturesque village, this makes The George a great meeting point for customers.
This one bar pub feels cosy and inviting, however is extremely spacious, a central bar area is surrounded by a comfy sofa area by the fire, sports room, restaurant area and dog friendly seating section. Outside there is a heated glass structured building perfect for outdoor dining all year round complete with outdoor wood burner giving even winter evenings a warm and relaxed feel. Outside also has a patio and gravelled area with bench seating.
The George prides itself on its community feel, welcoming first impression and its regular and growing repeat trade. Offering something for everyone in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
