Our Vacancies Explained
Our Pubs are either tenanted or managed. In a tenanted house the publican, rents the premises, buys the fixtures, fittings and stock from Arkell's and runs it as their own business, with the experience and support of a 160 year old brewery behind you whenever you need it.
In a managed house the manager is a salaried employee of the brewery. Both managers and tenants usually live on the premises, so at Arkell's we are aware, that it will be your home too and want to help you make the move that is right for you.
In these pages we have put together some information to help you get a feel of what running an Arkell's pub is like.
You don't have to have run a pub before, we offer both support and training, but you do need to genuinely like people and enjoy looking after them and have the flare to operate your own business.
You will need a National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH), this nationally recognised qualification awarded by the British Institute of Innkeepers (BII). The one-day course, which Arkell's runs four times a year at the brewery in association with the BII, covers key licensing law issues.
With out great people we wouldn't have great pubs; if you want to share in our enthusiasm then, all you need to contact us is right here.
